The Engineering Intern will be responsible for the execution of system-level testing of complete product(s) to evaluate functional performance, reliability and robustness per a pre-defined test plan. Typical products will be battery powered for electronic sensor measurement, logging and data transmission. Key activities will include setting up equipment for test scenarios, checking on equipment performance and putting together reports on device performance. The individual will work closely with the product engineer and management to get direction, coordinate testing and report on test campaigns.
The Engineering Intern will be responsible for:
Review product functional specification and test plan to understand functionality of product(s).
Set up test systems, reference devices and data analysis tools to execute pre-defined test plans. Monitor equipment under test to validate performance and test progression.
Work with internal resources, remote personnel and third parties to coordinate and run test campaigns.
Identify, investigate and analyze issues/defects found during testing. Provide feedback from test results as well as other recommendations to improve functionality, ease of use and reliability.
Work with design team to aid determination of root cause and suggested solutions for issues/improvements identified.
Generate, communicate and release data analysis, progress reports and engineering reports based on test campaigns. Write test reports/summaries documentation to thoroughly record testing performed and accurately communicate results and issues found.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (preferably having completed junior or senior year)
Familiarity with mechanical and computerized measuring devices, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzers and standard office equipment.
Coursework in analog circuits, sensors, microprocessors, wireless communications is preferred
Strong communication, planning and organization skills
Ability to use Microsoft Office for reports and data analysis.
Knowledge of C programming language is a plus
