Position Description:


This position will provide legal support in a timely and responsive manner on a broad range of compensation and benefit matters, including the Company’s defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans, health & welfare plans, and other benefits programs. This position reports directly to the Director, Sr. Counsel - Global Employment Law and Corporate Functions.


  • Drafting and revising summary plan descriptions, summaries of material modifications, participant notices, and other benefits related communications

  • Drafting and amending various plan documents

  • Preparing materials and minutes for the Company’s Pension & Investment Committee meetings

  • Assisting in the preparation of appeal responses

  • Providing legal support for the role out of any new benefits initiatives  Assisting in the negotiation of any benefits-related service contracts

  • Supporting the legal team with any benefits related due diligence needed for corporate transactions

  • Keeping abreast of ERISA and benefits-related legal developments & engaging proactively to drive compliance & implement risk-mitigating strategies

  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:


  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the employee-benefits legal field

  • A bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree with paralegal certificate

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting benefits plans

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), including ability to communicate complex information in a short, easy-to-understand format

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including a friendly and professional demeanor, cooperative partnership approach, and an ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment with people of many countries and cultures, and at all levels of the organization

  • Highly organized self-starter proficient at multi-tasking and managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously

  • Have a practical, business oriented approach to problem-solving

  • Ability to maintain strict confidence and discretion

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and other applications
