Position Description:

Lead a team of 2-3 experienced accountants and supervise results of their work

Ensure accurate anticipation of the implications of the new US GAAP revenue recognition standard for forecasting and budget

Ensure thorough contract review of contracts in scope for new revenue recognition rules

Ensure accurate reflection of results of contract review into booking entries (apply Percentage of Completion / Over time revenue recognition methodology)

Optimize interface with Project Management in order to reflect most up to date available information in accounting records and support operational benefit and financial guidance on ongoing projects

Support local management with regards to providing guidance on the impact of new revenue recognition or other accounting rules (e.g. lease accounting)

Ensure SOX compliant processes and controls

Partner with the business to manage efforts for implementation of new and updated accounting standards across the company, including (but not limited to) new standards for revenue recognition and leases

Support accuracy of monthly accounting and forecasting within the group of SIHI entities

Support Region Controller with upcoming Tax issues

Position Requirements:

Leadership skills to drive a motivated Group Accountant department in a challenging environment of a stock listed US company

MBA (Fachhochschule oder Universität) or Master’s degree in accounting

CPA certification

3 - 5 years experience in some combination of technical accounting Strong technical accounting and research skills

Knowledge of ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers and ASC 842 Leases

Experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”)

Project management experience preferred, including ability to coordinate cross-functional and global teams

Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to apply judgement and operate effectively in a decentralized, unstructured and dynamic environment

Attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to package and present complex information in an effective and efficient manner

Able to multi-task in high pressure, time-constrained situations

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong PC skills including Windows and Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint; knowledge of SAP BPC is preferred but not required


Strong experience in all accounting and tax issues
