Role Summary:

The Jr. Test Engineer has the function to support in the daily operations of the test laboratory: perform performance testing of manufactured equipment, test documentation preparation, test materials (instrumentation) set-up, test specification analysis, report preparation, etc. All this under the coordination of the Test Engineers. The nature of the position is to perform day to day tasks to gain experience and knowledge in the operation of the test laboratory.

Responsibilities

Knowledge of API 610, HIS 14.6 and ISO 9906 standards, as well as their application to the testing process of manufactured equipment. Knowledge of Mechanical Seals, as well as the correct assembly for testing pumps with customer owned seals. Basic hydraulic modifications (affinity laws). Support in elaborating and delivering on time the test procedures required by customers. Keep laboratory areas (storage, pit, offices, equipment and instruments) clean and tidy. Elaborate pump adjustment instructions (P-594) and/or release. Registering this in the network and informing all personnel involved within an hour after the test is finished. Review hydraulic inspection reports issued by QA personnel. Maintain safe laboratory operation by detecting and ensuring unsafe conditions and acts are eliminated. Comply with safety audits. Maintain the instrumental equipment in the laboratory in optimal condition. In coordination with the laboratory management generate test program to be performed, looking for the optimization of motor assemblies and arrangements. Test 100% of the pumps programmed by production. Attend and accredit internal corporate and external audits. Perform tests of: performance, NPSH, mechanical, engine run test, impact test, special test.

Requirements Mechanical engineering, mechatronics or related, with knowledge in hydraulics/fluid mechanics of pumping equipment (Flow, Load, Efficiency, etc.). Intermediate - Advanced English. Able to hold technical discussions with customers, interpretation of standards, technical specifications and writing test procedures and test reports in English. Interpretation of hydraulic performance curves. Ability to understand vibration spectra. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Power Point and Word. Proficiency with computer equipment. Intermediate knowledge of electricity (motors, starters, medium voltage, power measurement). Handling of units international system, English system, conversions. Knowledge of transducers, sensors, instrumentation. Knowledge of geometric tolerances, drawing interpretation. Interpretation of P&ID drawings, general arrangement, machining of components. 2D, 3D drawing - Autocad, SolidWorks. Knowledge of industrial safety.

Plus: Experience in rotating equipment manufacturing companies. Knowledge of equipment evaluation testing, electrical, instrumentation. Knowledge of mechanical seals. Instrumentation and LabView operation.
