Position Description:

Import/Export:

•Knowledge of US export and customs regulations including some nuclear products.

•Ensure compliance with US export and import regulations.

•Coordinate, as the facility main contact, the daily import/export activities with carriers, customs brokers and other third party logistics.

•Proactively identify potential export compliance risks, develop risk assessment corrective measures in conjunction with the ECC. Adjust business practices and make changes, as directed by the ECC or ICC.

•Coordinate export and import compliance for the facility and other internal departments.

•Audit freight forwarders and Customs brokers for compliance to export and import procedures/policies. Develop corrective action plans to correct deficiencies and/or add new controls for meeting regulatory changes.

•Manage export and import documentation retention procedures.

•Responsible for ensuring AES compliance.

•Report all quantity discrepancies to Import Compliance Coordinator (ICC) and correcting the Customs entries.

•Basic understanding of NAFTA as it will be responsible for and directly involved in qualifications determination and NAFTA certificate issuance.

•Responsible for providing detailed parts information to ICC.

•Responsible for filing 10+2/Importer Security Filing (ISF) accurately and timely.

•Document Import and Export process and formulate training plan.

•Conduct Import and Export audits.

•Supervise and create export documentations such as commercial invoices.

Preferences:

Traffic/Logistics:

•Manage the traffic department including traffic coordinators.

•Experience managing a department responsible for moving material and shipping, preferred.

•U.S. Customs Broker License is preferred. •Responsible for the movement of materials, hardware, and heavy equipment.

•Responsible for the delivery of packages and equipment to and from shipping and receiving.

•Manage critical lifts and moves, large complex/high cost hardware moves including multiple cranes and forklifts.

•Responsible for leading, motivating and continually developing a skilled group of employees in shipping and compliance.

•Partner with Corporate Logistics ensuring execution of cost savings goals

•Support alignment across multiple functional areas within operations, including Planning, Shop, Inventory Control, Quality, Project Management and Engineering.

•Effectively introduce lean concepts throughout Logistics functions; and help drive a continuous improvement environment.

Position Requirements:

•Minimum 5 years of experience with import and export regulations in a capacity of trade compliance, international or global trade, custom broker, or similar operations is required.

•4-year college degree is required, International Trade or Business is preferred

•Knowledge of Import and Export documentation is required.

•Experience dealing with freight forwarders, customs brokers, supply chain, purchasing, and logistics

•Logistics experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

•Understanding of receiving process, discrepancy handling, and inventory control

•Demonstrated leadership skills.

•Ability to interface effectively within global Flowserve management.

•Strong coordination and organization skills

•Good writing skills with previous experience in creating and reviewing contracts and other export documents.

•An assertive personality with excellent oral and written communication and problem solving skills while working with direct reports.

•High degree of desk-top computer proficiency and familiar with ERP and office systems

•Excellent analytical and decision making skills
